Prime Point Foundation
Prime Point Foundation is a Chennai-based non-profit public trust, incepted in 1998 with the mission of creating public relations and communication awareness. The Foundation has conducted numerous programmes and workshops on communication topics over the years.
Following the vision of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Foundation joined hands with him to launch the India Vision 2020 movement — an effort to inspire and engage Indian youth in building a strong, developed nation.
Prime Point Foundation has been at the forefront of fostering communication awareness since its inception in 1998. As a Chennai-based non-profit public trust, it has dedicated decades to conducting workshops and programmes that equip individuals with essential public relations and communication skills. This foundational work has created a ripple effect, empowering professionals, students, and community leaders to express ideas clearly and collaborate effectively. By emphasizing the importance of dialogue and media literacy, the Foundation has built a strong network of informed citizens who understand the power of strategic communication in driving social change and national progress.
The India Vision 2020 movement stands as a testament to the visionary thinking of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and the commitment of Prime Point Foundation to youth engagement. Together, they launched an inspiring campaign that challenged young Indians to imagine and actively build a developed nation. Through initiatives like essay contests and interactive seminars, the movement sparked meaningful conversations about India's future across schools and colleges nationwide. Young participants were encouraged to think critically about challenges facing the country and to contribute innovative ideas for sustainable growth, technological advancement, and social harmony.
Building a developed nation requires the active participation of every citizen, especially the youth who represent tomorrow's leaders. The Foundation's ongoing efforts focus on creating platforms where young voices can be heard and nurtured. By combining communication training with nation-building themes, these programmes instill a sense of responsibility and civic pride. Participants learn not just how to speak effectively, but how to listen, collaborate, and take concrete action. This holistic approach ensures that the vision of a prosperous, inclusive India remains alive in each generation, driven by informed, passionate, and articulate young change-makers.
Youth Engagement
As part of its outreach, the Foundation organised an essay contest titled "India Vision 2020 – Role of Youth in Building a Strong India" for college students across Tamilnadu and Pondicherry. Approximately 250 essays were received from 107 colleges and institutions.
The jury committee was headed by Prof. Y.S. Rajan, Scientific Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab and co-author of the book India 2020 with Dr. Abdul Kalam.
Our Approach
The India Vision 2020 platform encourages activities by various groups working toward national development. It provides a space for articles, events, awards, and community discussion — all aimed at fostering positive contributions to society without engaging in political debate.
